Diverse Systems Consulting (DSC) was founded in 2005 by senior service and technical engineer Eugene King, who has over 25  years of experience supporting focused ion beam (FIB) systems, scanning electron microscopes (SEM) and dual beam FIB/SEM systems. Eugene is FEI Company/Thermo Fisher Scientific factory trained and he maintains a close association to ensure that his knowledge of their instruments is always current.

Eugene understands the expectations of lab managers while also acknowledging the unique needs behind supporting a legacy system that may be 20+ years old and working alongside the most advanced analytical technology available. Legacy systems can have service and repair challenges, so we are committed to doing everything possible to keep these often workhorse performers contributing at their highest possible level of productivity. 

We respect our clients’ time and workload, so we always strive to get to the fastest possible resolution. 

Clear communication with our clients is critical. We listen first to our clients to understand their needs, before responding with our suggested remediation strategy. Naturally, on-site visits are the best way to assess instrument condition and define a repair strategy. As such, we will endeavor to identify the exact sub-component system with deficient parts and what needs to be repaired or replaced.

We are committed to meeting our clients’ needs and exceeding their expectations through our continuous education on the instruments we support and the improvement of our service offerings. With legacy systems, it may not always possible for us to have ALL the answers, but that won’t change our focus on working hard to get you the information that you need to make decisions about the care and maintenance of your older instruments.
